UV DTF (Direct-to-Film) transfers are a simple and effective way to personalise a wide range of hard surfaces with vibrant, detailed, long-lasting designs.

Ideal for drinkware, mugs, tumblers, glassware, water bottles, phone cases, laptops and other smooth, hard surfaces.

Our UV DTF transfers are designed to offer excellent adhesion, vibrant colours and resistance to everyday use when applied correctly.

🔧 Artwork Requirements

To ensure the best possible print quality, please ensure your submitted files meet the following criteria:

• File type: PNG only

• Resolution: 300 DPI (dots per inch)

• Background: Must be transparent

What You'll Need

• Your UV DTF transfer

• Lint-free cleaning cloth

• Rubbing alcohol (isopropyl alcohol)

• Plastic squeegee or firm card

Step-by-Step Application Instructions

Step 1 – Prepare Your Surface

Thoroughly clean the application area using rubbing alcohol and a lint-free cloth to remove dust, oils and residue.

Ensure the surface is completely clean and dry before proceeding.

Step 2 – Remove the Backing Paper

Carefully peel away the white backing paper, ensuring the entire design remains attached to the clear carrier film.

Important: Avoid touching the adhesive side of the transfer, as this may affect adhesion.

Step 3 – Position & Apply

Carefully align your transfer with the desired application area.

Once positioned, gently press the design onto the surface, working from the centre outward to minimise air bubbles.

Please note: UV DTF transfers are designed for permanent application and generally cannot be repositioned once adhered.

Step 4 – Apply Firm Pressure

Using your fingers, squeegee or a firm plastic card, rub firmly across the entire design.

Pay particular attention to fine details, lettering and edges to ensure the transfer bonds securely to the surface.

Step 5 – Remove the Carrier Film

Slowly peel away the clear carrier film at a sharp angle, keeping it close to the surface.

If any part of the design begins to lift, carefully lay the film back down and apply additional pressure before continuing.

Once removed, your personalised item is ready!

Tips for Best Results

• Room Temperature: Apply transfers at room temperature for best adhesion.

• Clean Surfaces: Ensure the application area is free from dust, moisture and oils.

• Curved Items: Work slowly and apply in small sections when decorating curved surfaces.

• Allow to Bond: Avoid washing or exposing the transfer to moisture for at least 24 hours after application.

• Surface Compatibility: Best suited to smooth, clean, non-porous surfaces. Test unfamiliar materials before use.

Care Instructions

To maintain the quality and longevity of your UV DTF transfers:

• Hand wash gently with mild detergent.

• Avoid abrasive cleaners, scrubbing pads and harsh chemicals.

• Do not place decorated items in the dishwasher or microwave.

• Avoid prolonged soaking or submersion in water.

• Do not apply to fabric, silicone or flexible surfaces.

• Avoid placing transfers on surfaces exposed to direct food contact or on drinking rims.

Please note: Although UV DTF transfers are designed to be durable and resistant to everyday use, longevity will depend on surface preparation, application, handling and ongoing care.
